Had a snow storm right after they came. You will get what you pay for. The straps are hard to pull tight enough with cold fingers to stay snug on your boots. The strap that goes over the back of your boot slid down on all four of us. They come with no instructions but are easy to figure out after looking at them. Good packaging. Both of us liked cross-country skiing, but I didn't like going down steep hills or the constant side-slipping in ungroomed trails (the only kind we use - out our back door). I put these snow shoes on and it was love at first step! They are comfortable, easy to walk in, extremely stable. I feel like I could climb up (or down) a cliff. My husband tried them after I'd used them a week or so and bought a pair for himself. They tend not to stay square on the boot, but this isn't a serious problem. You also need to be sure the back strap is as high on the boot heel as possible since it will slip off otherwise. But for people like us who are just starting out, they are fine, even with those quirks. We love being able to go through all kinds of snow and terrain. In a couple of years we might opt for something up a notch or two, but for now these suit us, our budget and our expertise (or lack). |
