I put mine on my Dawes Lightning 1000, which had enough clearance for the fenders. The rear fender attachment that hangs on the brake screw makes it difficult to tighten the caliper brake in place and the brake goes out of adjustment easily with a slight push so i have to be mindful not to hit the rear brake. Otherwise its a fine fender and does its job. I was a little leery of these fenders because of all the bad reviews I was reading, so I bought them at my local bike shop because i knew that if i didn't like them they would gladly take them back and get me the right ones for the job. I bought the fenders and anticipated them to take about half an hour to put on (being that I'm fairly mechanically inclined) i was wrong. I have a Giant Defy and i'm an avid cyclist but lately i've been finding less and less time to actually ride so i decided to make this bike my commuter bike. all and all it took me a casual hour and a half to put these on, the adjustments are tedious and the instructions are vague, but if you set aside a couple hours to instal them anyone should be fine. its not hard it just takes some finagling. once i got them on there, they fit well and get the job done.Bottom line: if you want permeant fenders for your race bike (with fender mounts of course) buy these and take the time to instal them properly. if you want... This is the 4th set of Planet Bike fenders I've had and finally writing up a review. Added these to an iZip Via Rapido eBike with 700c x 38c tires within the last month. The Via Rapido 2010 edition has all the eyelets for this set of fenders and the fit is just right! On one older Currie eBike, I had to swap the Planet Bike Hardcore rear fender for a Planet Bike ATB rear fender to get the rear mounting rods to fit correctly. It must be VERY difficult to fit a set of "standard" mount fenders to ALL possible bike and eBike combinations. The Planet Bike family of fenders has had an alternative for every bike I've tried fitting them.The fenders required very little adjustment and the only real headache I found is clipping off the ends of the stainless steel adjustement rods when you've finished installing the fenders.
